Protect from mosquito stinging and Disease

Dated-05 Oct 2023

If you are bitten by mosquitoes a lot, then you are a mosquito magnet and you need to be careful about the diseases associated with mosquito bites like malaria, dengue, and chikungunya. So keep a few things in mind.
Why do mosquitoes bite you more? You must have often heard some people saying that mosquitoes bite them more. Different people secrete different amounts of moisture-producing chemicals from their skin. Mosquitoes are attracted to various factors, including body heat, the presence of certain chemicals in sweat, and even blood type. People who produce higher amounts of body heat, emit more carbon dioxide, or have a certain blood type (such as type O) are more likely to be targeted by these insects. Healthy bacteria present on the skin of the body eat this acid and emit a special smell. This attracts mosquitoes. According to a study by New York-based Rockefeller University, if a certain substance is present on a person's skin, mosquitoes will bite him more.
To protect from mosquitoes follow some Precautions:
• Wear clothes like this: Dark, bright colors and floral prints attract more mosquitoes and other pests. Light-colored clothes that you can cut. Covering the body as much as possible is the best way to protect against mosquitoes. Your clothes should also be a little loose because mosquitoes can easily enter through tight-fitting clothes. Wear more light-textured and cotton clothing, which will help keep you cool even when your body is covered.
• Eliminate Breeding Sites: Mosquitoes lay their eggs in sluggish water. Prevent water from accumulating in and around your home by emptying containers, cleaning gutters, and ensuring proper drainage.
• Avoid Strong-Scented Products: Mosquitoes are drawn to strong scents, including perfumes and scented lotions. Using unscented products can help reduce your attractiveness to these insects.
• Mosquito Nets: Use mosquito nets while sleeping to create a physical barrier that keeps mosquitoes away.
• Pest Control: Regular pest control measures can significantly reduce mosquito populations around your home.
• Mosquito Racket: A mosquito racket is an effective tool for immediate protection against individual mosquitoes indoors.
• Use Mosquito Repellent: insect repellent can be used to protect from mosquito bites. As per a study of the U.S. (CDC) kids and pregnant can be used insect repellent.
